Kick Line Dance Camp
Completed grades 6-11
     Are you interested in Kick line and possibly joining the Winter Dance team? Join us at the High School for a week long Kick line dance camp where you will learn the basics of Kick Line techniques, stretching, and then tie it all into a routine that will be performed at 10:45 am the last day of camp in the HS Auditorium. This is for girls that have just completed 6-11th grade. Wear loose/flexible clothing and tennis shoes and bring a water bottle. Participating in Kick Line Dance Camp does not require a commitment to the Winter Dance team. Register by July 21.

Yoga for the Student Athlete
Students in 7-12th; Coaches are welcome to attend too!
     In this two hour Learning and Doing session, for STUDENT ATHLETES, we will use yoga postures to help build core strength, balance, and flexibility in all major muscle groups, as well as sport specific movements. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat, if you have one. Some mats will be available for use. Be advised we will be moving up and down off the floor. Register by August 4.

Laker Basketball Camp
For boys and girls entering grades 1-8 in the fall of 2017
    This camp will focus on improving skills for players of all abilities. Skills focused on will be shooting, passing, ball handling, team offensive and defensive skills and rebounding. There will be various individual contests as well as team play throughout the camp. Each participant will receive a camp t-shirt. The camp staff will be comprised of members of the HLWW coaching staff as well as current and former Laker players.

Laker Volleyball Camp
Completed grades 1-6
     Improve your volleyball skills and techniques. Prizes and awards will be handed out the last day of camp at 9 am (grades 1-3) and at 10:30 am (grades 4-6), parents are welcome to attend. Questions regarding camp, contact Brooke Decker at 763-744-6959 or Register with Community Education by May 24 to guarantee a t-shirt. Late registrations accepted but not guaranteed a t-shirt.

Traveling Volleyball
Girls grades 5 & 6
    League games begin Saturdays in September continuing through October. A tournament is planned for October. Practices will be held mid-August through October, after school or evenings depending on coaches schedule.
Registration form for traveling volleyball will be available from the Community Education office May 10. Registration deadline is June 1 .

HLWW Youth Football Camp
Completed grades 3-6
     This Youth Football Camp will allow students to enhance their football skills as well as compete in a 7 on 7 passing competition. Students will be coached by high school players and coaching staff. On the final day of camp, we will have a 7 on 7 Super Bowl where the players will be divided into evenly matched teams to compete for Camp Championship.

Typically the program runs December-February.


City of Howard Lake Summer Recreation
     All grades are based on the grade the student was in for the 2016-17 school year.
Schedule may change due to number of registrants for each activity.
Baseball & softball practices will be at Yager Field, 9th Street and 9th Avenue, Howard Lake.
     No practices will be held on Wednesday afternoons or Fridays. These times will be used for other activities such as soccer, kickball and dodgeball.
     To ensure receiving a summer rec t-shirt, registrations must be received by Thursday, May 25. Registrations for baseball and softball will not be accepted by phone.
     Registration form available online at, click on Community Education, Youth Activities, Howard Lake Summer Recreation or in the Community Education office. Registrations are to be returned to the Community Education office.

Waverly Boosters Summer Recreation
     The Waverly Boosters, in cooperation with the City of Waverly, will again be offering baseball and softball to children from age 5 to completion of grade 6. Our programs are designed to teach the fundamentals of baseball and softball to boys and girls.

Winsted Youth Baseball & Softball Summer Program
    This is for all boys & girls ages 4-18 years old in Winsted or the surrounding area interested in playing ball this summer. Registration takes place in early March. Practice Schedule: Practices will be held at the HS/MS fields and begin the middle of May.  Dates and times will be determined by the coaches and HLWW YSA.  
Game Schedule: Begins early June through late July.  Monday and Wednesday evenings.
Coaches: HLWW YSA will select coaches for all age levels.
