Welcome to Winsted Elementary,

As you look to learn more about our elementary schools, I am pleased to share with you that we have one of the best groups of individuals partnering with you to help your child learn and grow—academically, physically, and socially. It is a privilege to be teaming with these caring, dedicated and knowledgeable individuals at each of the elementary schools in the Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted School District. They are truly top-notch and it is a joy to be working side by side with them!

Our staff is able to offer opportunities and challenges for each child to reach their highest potential.  While hoping to inspire students to achieve their personal best in academic areas, we also have a strong emphasis on building a strong school community that extends beyond the classroom walls. Developing respectful, responsible citizens through daily endeavors and experiences compliment the academic learning taking place is a priority for everyone in our schools. We will, and continue to, grow and learn together in many different ways.

Both elementary schools in our district are home to children in preschool through fourth grade from the communities of Howard Lake, Waverly, and Winsted.  Each elementary school has earned National Blue Ribbon School recognitions, Humphrey in 2012 and Winsted in 2013, highly prestigious honors for academic growth/success.

Come learn and grow with us, and share in the learning process! Our elementary school staff welcomes active participation with parents, family, and community volunteers. Your gifts of time, talents, and support are key components to our success as an elementary community.
